Ringing in the New Year

New Year's Eve is usually pretty low-key for me.  (ie: last year) There have been plenty of years where I don't even last until midnight.  But that was not the case this year!

We decided to ring in twenty-thirteen in style -- at the 9th Annual Black Party in the Firestone building just south of downtown KC.  We even went all out and bought VIP tickets for the night (access to another floor and food)!

They had the old building decorated, three dj's playing on three different floors, and food from Tasso's up on the "VIP" level.  Of course it was unlimited alcohol, which did not turn out well for many people there, haha.  We got there around 9:30, and there were already people black-out drunk.  Ridiculous.



We hung out, had some food, had a few drinks (well, I had my one drink for the night), and danced the night away.  At midnight, confetti fell (LOVE) and we had a champagne toast. 

It was a cool night, and I'm glad we tried something new.  However, I'm not sure if this year's kiss was better or worse than last years?? ;)

Pretty solid list, if you ask me!  Date nights were something I looked forward to every week...

This year, instead of going out to eat all the time, we're going to try and cook as many new meals as we can.  We'll shoot for one a week, like we did with the restaurants. 

I'll report back next year.  I have my doubts about this one, haha. ;)
